A naval treaty between the ambassador for the King of Spain, Anthoine Brun, on one side and the dutch representatives of the States General on the other side [ R. Huygens, F. Banningh-Cock (Portrayed on Rembrandt's 'Nachtwacht'], C. Ripperse, J.Veth, G. v. Hoolck, J. Andrée, J. vander Beecke, A. Clant], discussing in a number of meetings matters that were not resolved straight after the Treaty Of Munster, regarding trade, commerce and navgiation. The treaty contains 18 'Articulen en Conditien' / articles and agreements, among them: a form of 'Mare liberum', an embargo to carry weapons or parts of weapons as cargo, the right to enter a port without having to declare the nature of the cargo (unless foul play is suspected), etc. All these articles are seen as amendments to the 1648 Munster peace treaty.
